Juneteenth

On June 17th 2021, Juneteenth was officially recognized as a federal holiday in the U.S. Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of African American slaves. As we celebrate Juneteenth, it’s important for us to remember those who were enslaved in the United States and honor those who fought against slavery. We must also use Juneteenth as an opportunity to learn about history and continue to work to produce a system of justice.
