Urban Pathways 6-12 Communication
September 24, 2020
We at Urban Pathways 6-12 received the news of the Kentucky Attorney General’s decision on the Breonna Taylor case with heavy hearts. We find ourselves once again in a place of bewilderment, grief, and concern for the social and emotional well-being of our students, families, and our community. We want you to know that we deeply empathize with the pain, confusion, and anger that accompanies the Grand Jury’s decision.
We want the UPCS community to know that we are committed to working with our students on pursuing the kind of education that will put them into future positions in government, law, and other justice organizations in order to create a future where this kind of tragedy will not be allowed to occur without consequence. We continue our commitment to addressing issues of inequity and social injustice, as well as our stance that our students be educated on issues impacting the social and emotional landscapes of their lives.
If you are struggling, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of our school counselors or administrators for support.
