Black History Month Freedom House Ambulance Service

Founded in 1967 to serve the Hill District, the majority Black staff of Freedom House Ambulance Service broke medical ground by training its personnel to treat patients on the way to hospitals. The paramedic training and ambulance design standards of the Freedom House Ambulance Service would set the standard for emergency care nationally.
