Dear UPCS 6-12 Families,
Starting today, your family is invited to attend our virtual 2020 Orientation. The video can be viewed on our website www.upcs.net and YouTube Channel. During this video, you will get to meet the Administration and Counseling & Support Team, review student handbook policies, and learn what to expect during this first quarter of virtual learning. After watching Orientation, please complete the required 2020-2021 Orientation and Handbook Acceptance form; this is also located in the link below the Orientation Video. It is our goal to keep everyone informed and safe.
Students will be receiving their individual class schedules on their designated computer pick up day. The schedule for pickup is included below. Attendance will be taken daily, during each class, so set your alarm! The first day of online learning will be Friday, August 28, 2020. Students in grades 6-10 will attend classes virtually all day on 8/28. Students in grades 11-12 will be required to log into Google Classroom for the day’s assignments after they have picked up their materials at the school, and then begin attending scheduled classes on Monday, 8/31.
When picking up your Chromebook & materials, please wear a mask:
August 26 – Grades 6-8
Grade 6 from 9:00-11:00
Grade 7 from 11:00-1:00
Grade 8 from 1:00-3:00
August 27 – Grades 9-10
Grade 9 from 9:00-11:00
Grade 10 from 11:00-1:00
August 28 – Grades 11-12
Grade 11 from 9:00-11:00
Grade 12 from 11:00-1:00
On computer pick up day, we will be providing students with:
- Chromebook with charger and carrying case
- Earphones
- Class syllabi
- Class materials (notebook, pencils, pens)
- Student schedule
- Breakfast & Lunch to go
Please bring a bag or backpack with you when you come to the school to pick up your chromebook, so that you can transport all of your materials home.
Once school begins, if your child needs repairs to their chromebook, please email their Mentor Teacher and have the student bring in their computer on Tuesdays or Fridays between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.
