I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Tatiana Pierce last summer during Orientation when she expressed her love of art. It was kismet that she was added to my Pathways class. Although quiet at first, I witnessed Tatiana open up immensely as a part of my art class. She embraced art projects like the best kind of art student: challenging herself beyond rubrics and skillfully completing projects as if she was a professional artist. Her keen eye catches details that others’ miss and precision is every art teachers’ dream.
Tatiana is consistent, caring, both self-respecting and respectful. She is funny and upfront; making sure I kept my promises. Like all my Pathways students, Tatiana’s most frequent request of me was food. And for that, I have endless smiles and appreciation of this fine young woman.
I hope Tatiana gets to follow all her dreams; through art or travel and whatever she discovers on her way.
