Allegheny Health Network Young Scholars Program

Allegheny Health Network’s (AHN) Enterprise Equitable Health Institute (EEHI) is focused on supporting health equity in our communities by expanding access with a workforce that represents the communities we serve. We are holding ourselves accountable for creating change and establishing partnerships with trust and empathy to achieve optimal outcomes.

AHN Young Scholars is a 6-week summer program for students interested in a career in medicine. AHN supports students through middle school, high school, college, and medical school. The goal is for students to become doctors and practice in the Pittsburgh area where they grew up.

EEHI is pleased to partner with the following groups:

Summer 2024

The summer program will run from Monday, June 17th to Friday, July 26th. Students will meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00am to 2:00pm at Allegheny General Hospital (320 E North Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15212). Students will learn key health and science topics, go on field trips, and participate in one community service project. In addition, students receive a $500 stipend based on full participation and attendance during the summer and a ConnectCard to assist with transportation to and from the host site.
