Be There by United Way of Allegheny County
The Be There Buddy Project is a partnership of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania and schools that establishes positive and caring relationships between students and staff to increase student attendance. Students who are at-risk or chronically absent are paired with staff who serve as student’s “buddy”.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
May 24th was the last day this school year for our Big Brothers Big Sisters program where we partnered with BNY Mellon employees in downtown Pittsburgh. Participants this year included seven students from 6th grade, three from 7th grade, and two from 8th grade. Our students had the chance to participate in various activities and field trips with their Bigs throughout the school year.
Carnegie Learning provided our students with Papa Johns pizza to celebrate their success with the Mathia X online learning program. These students have been working on Mathia X in their math class two days a week this school year. The students in attendance were also awarded for coming to class on time every day this week!
