Be There by United Way of Allegheny County
The Be There Buddy Project is a partnership of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania and schools that establishes positive and caring relationships between students and staff to increase student attendance. Students who are at-risk or chronically absent are paired with staff who serve as student’s “buddy”.

The Shyne Awards Foundation Student Board
Urban Pathways students have combined with students from CAPA and City High, High School to form a student advisory board in conjunction with the Shyne Awards Foundation. The Shyne Awards Foundation is a non profit agency dedicated to creating public platforms that celebrate, support and showcase youth from around the city. These students have been meeting at the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and coming up with ideas that will benefit students in the downtown area in a positive way. Some of the many ideas include, a cafe in the downtown area where students can go to to study, complete work, and play billiards. Others include different themed parties that would focus on positive interactions among the youth in the downtown area. The students have been working at this with minimal help from representatives at their respective schools.
